Willow Land

Helen Stephens Gallery,

until September 7

If you thought hand-painted ceramics were reserved for glass cabinets in your nana's sitting room, Gerry Wedd's new exhibition will change your mind. Sure, his works are the usual blue and white, but there are no cliched miniatures or cupids here. Instead the ex-Mambo artist has managed to create an entire ceramic village - complete with trees, kangaroos and a boatload of women on stormy seas. Helen Stephens Gallery, 254 Bronte Road, Waverley. Phone (02) 9386 4099 or see www.helenstephensgallery.com. Gallery hours Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10.30am-6pm; Sundays, 11am-4pm.
